Ym 1974, arianodd y label Recordiau Arwydd ddwy albwm gan ddau fand tra gwahanol. Penderfynodd y band pop ysgafn, Saron, recordio yn stiwdio’r label ger Dolydd, Caernarfon. Ymlwybrodd y band arall i grombil Meirionydd i ddechrau gweithio ar eu record gyntaf.

Eu henw oedd Bür Hoff Bau.

Dri mis yn ddiweddarach, chwalodd y band am byth.

Mae’r albwm ymysg yr ychydig dystiolaeth i’r band erioed fodoli, ynghyd â ffilm ddogfen am y broses recordio a’i chynhyrchwyd gan yr Almaenwr Hans Glaumann.

Yn 2014, rhyddhawyd yr albwm am y tro cyntaf ar label Klep Dim Trep, a diolch i waith adfer y cwmni cynhyrchu Ffesantgwelwyd y ffilm ddogfen am y tro cyntaf yng Nghymru.

In 1974, Welsh record label Recordiau Arwydd funded two albums by two very different bands. The pop band, Saron, decided to record in the label’s studio in the hamlet of Dolydd, Caernarfon. The other group escaped deep into the Meirionnydd countryside to start work on their debut album.

Their name was Bür Hoff Bau.

Three months later, the band disbanded and they never saw the stage again.

The only surviving evidence of the band’s existence is their only album, I’r (To), and a documentary of its recording process, produced by German director Hans Glaumann.

The album and film finally saw the light of day in 2014, the fomer released by Klep Dim Trep and the latter lovingly restored by production company Ffesant.
